How to Prepare for House Cleaning #
Booked your professional house cleaning service? Wondering what you need to do beforehand? Preparing for a cleaning service ensures the best results, saves time, and helps your cleaner focus on making your home shine. While our team takes care of everything from dusting to deep cleaning, a little preparation goes a long way. Here’s what you need to know to get ready for a smooth and efficient house cleaning experience.
Declutter for Maximum Efficiency #
While our cleaners are happy to tidy up, removing personal items, toys, clothes, and dishes beforehand allows them to focus on deep cleaning. A clear space helps us reach all areas effectively, ensuring your home is thoroughly cleaned.
Secure Valuables and Important Items #
For peace of mind, we recommend putting away valuables, important documents, and delicate items before we arrive. Our team is fully insured and trained, but securing your personal belongings ensures nothing gets misplaced.
Plan for Pets #
We love pets, but they may be curious or nervous around vacuums and cleaning products. If possible, keep pets in a separate room or outdoor area to ensure a smooth cleaning process.
Make Special Requests in Advance #
If you have specific areas you’d like us to focus on—such as deep-cleaning baseboards or extra attention to bathrooms—let us know in advance. Our team will do their best to accommodate your requests.
Ensure Access to Your Home #
Whether you’ll be home or not during the cleaning, be sure your cleaner can access your home. If you have a keyless entry, gate code, or special instructions, share them ahead of time to avoid delays.
Common Questions About House Cleaning #
Should I do a quick clean before my house cleaner arrives?
No need to deep clean, that’s what we’re here for! However, tidying up surfaces, putting dishes in the sink, clearing toys off the floor and so on can really help your cleaner spend their time on the cleaning duties such as getting the floors or countertops cleaned rather than cleared.
How much should I tip my house cleaner?
Tipping is always appreciated but not required. Some people like to tip their cleaner on every visit, some people like to tip once a year for example near to Christmas time, some people prefer not to tip at all. Tipping is not expected and our staff are compensated well for their time.
Do I need to provide cleaning supplies?
No, we bring our own professional-grade cleaning supplies and equipment. Our products are EWG verified (Learn what that means Here). However, if you prefer to supply your own, that’s okay too!
