How to Prepare for Plumbing Services #
Getting ready for a professional plumbing visit? Whether it’s a leaky faucet, pipe replacement, or full bathroom upgrade, a little preparation can make the process faster, smoother, and more efficient for everyone. Here’s what to do before your Kind Hearted plumber arrives.
Preparing Your Space #
Our Red Seal plumbers arrive fully equipped to get the job done right—but a few simple steps on your end can make the process even smoother:
- Clear the Area: Make sure the space around the work area (under sinks, around toilets, or in mechanical rooms) is clutter-free and easy to access.
- Know Where the Main Water Shutoff Is: If accessible, locate your main water shutoff valve ahead of time in case it needs to be used. Shut off any water shut off valves which are accessible to stop the water if possible.
- Secure Pets and Children: Keep curious little ones and furry friends safely away from the work zone.
- Fragile Items: If the work is happening near any decorative or fragile items, it’s a good idea to move them temporarily.
- Communicate Special Instructions: Let us know about any quirks with your plumbing system or specific concerns you may have—we love details!
- Provide Parking Access: If your home has limited parking, consider reserving a nearby spot for quick access to tools and equipment.

Common Questions About Plumbing Visits #
Do I need to provide any parts or materials?
Nope! We bring everything needed for the job. If you’ve already purchased a specific fixture (like a faucet or showerhead), just let us know ahead of time so we can install it properly.
Will the water be shut off?
Possibly, depending on the work. For most jobs, the water will be off temporarily.. often the water will be shut off to the specific area such as “Bathroom Faucets” or “Kitchen Faucet” but when needs must, your entire water may need to be shut off. We’ll let you know so you can plan around it if the work is pre-planned. On an emergency visit the Kinder Plumber will keep you informed during the process.
Can I stay home during the service?
Of course! You’re welcome to be home, but if you’re heading out, just ensure we have access and contact info for any updates.
Will you clean up after the job?
Always. We leave every space as clean—or cleaner—than we found it. That’s the Kind Hearted way.
